Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

SLS Models offer truly realistic functionality & performance allowing them to be used in representative component trials, which is why the process is commonly used as not only a prototype solution, but increasingly as an actual production solution.

The most commonly available material is Nylon, both GF filled and non-filled.

Advantages of SLS models:

Tough functional parts.

Higher Build volume allowing higher quantities of parts to be produced at once.

Some considerations …

Minimum wall thickness is typically 0.6mm

SLS components are produced from a powder, therefore parts do not have a completely smooth

surface but can be further finished.

Parts are porous (but can be sealed as a post process)

SLS models are NOT suitable for use as masters for downstream Vacuum Casting.

Typical lead times of 3 to 5 Working Days
